1. Who We Are
WiredStrings ("we", "us", "our") is an internationalization (i18n) management platform operated as a personal project. The service is accessible at wiredstrings.app and via the API at api.wiredstrings.app.

2. Data We Collect
Account data
When you register, we collect your email address and the display name you choose. If you are invited to an organization, we also store your membership and role within that organization.
Translation content
We store the translation keys, values, languages, and projects you create. This content belongs entirely to you. We process it only to provide the service.
Usage and log data
Our servers record standard HTTP access logs (IP address, request path, status code, timestamp) for security and debugging purposes. API requests are also captured in our audit log system, which you can view in the dashboard.
Billing data
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers or sensitive payment details. We receive and store a Stripe customer ID, subscription status, and billing tier to manage your plan.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. This cookie is HTTP-only, Secure, and scoped to the minimum required path. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and operate the WiredStrings service
- To send transactional emails (password reset, invitations, billing receipts)
- To enforce usage limits and tier restrictions
- To debug issues and maintain service security
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
4. Data Sharing
We share data only with the following categories of service providers:
- Hetzner Online GmbH — server infrastructure (Frankfurt, Germany)
- Cloudflare, Inc. — CDN, DNS, and DDoS protection
- Stripe, Inc. — payment processing
- Transactional email provider — for sending account emails
We do not share your data with any other third parties unless required by law or a valid legal process.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data and translation content for as long as your account is active. Audit logs are retained according to your plan's retention policy (30 days for Pro, 90 days for Business, 365 days for Enterprise).
If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer (e.g., billing records for tax purposes).
6. Security
Data is transmitted over TLS. API tokens are stored as hashed values — we cannot recover a token after it is issued. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We follow security best practices and conduct regular dependency updates.
No system is perfectly secure. In the event of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — request deletion of your account and data
- Portability — export your translation content at any time via the Export feature
- Objection — object to certain processing activities

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users at least 14 days before taking effect. The current version is always available at this URL.
